The Local Area

 

Situated in the North Norfolk AONB you are surrounded by opportunities for sailing, birdwatching, exploring the sandy beaches or just simply relaxing and enjoying the area.

The Staithe is only a few hundred metres from the cottages and here you can launch small sailing craft or canoes.  You can walk out along the footpath alongside the salt marshes to the beautiful beach and sand dunes. Birdwatching can be spectacular and the region is famed for migrating birds.

Just behind the cottages are parish tennis courts, a playing field and a well equipped childrens playground.

The local Public House is only a stones throw away and serves excellent food.

An excellent range of shops and restaurants can be explored in the pretty Town of Burnham Market, just 2 miles away.

Brancaster Staithe with its popular sailing school is just 5 miles away if you don't get held up in the delights of Burnham Deepdale on the way!

The Peddars Way long distance footpath passes just 500mtrs away from the Cottages.

The ferry to Scolt Head can be booked locally and Holkham gap National Nature Reserve, Hall and Pottery is only 3 miles away. Within easy reach of the Cottages is Royal Sandringham, Golf courses, horse riding, Titchwell bird reserve and many other attractions of North Norfolk where something is easily found to interest young and old alike.

Further inland the Market town of Fakenham offers larger stores and supermarkets and an excellent traditional market on Thursdays.
